I am a smiler. That's been one of my chief forms of communication. I am known for my big, open smiles.
I still have them but people, especially strangers, rarely see them. I realize that I relied heavily on my smile for communication. Now, I am trying to find other ways to communicate a "hello". Speaking isn't always an option or welcomed by a stranger. A nod is about the best I can do.
I look forward to the day my smile can speak for me again.
