Yuck - but I loved it, AleXander. As one who was horrified of what I found on the streets the first time I visited NYC 14 years ago, like everyone else, I became more or less accustomed to the filth. Although my husband, who lived in Jersey many years and loved to walk in Manhattan, swears it's much better than it used to be. I can't imagine what it used to be.
